Last June, the Bureau Veritas Certification, which is authorized to grant IRIS certification, confirmed that Hispacold's Management System was evaluated and found to meet all industry standards required for the design, manufacturing and after-sales services of air conditioning equipment for passenger transport.
The Railway sector's quality, safety and business requirements are extremely rigorous. In 2005 UNIFE (Association of the European Rail Industry), alongside the industry's leading manufacturers and system integrators, developed the IRIS Standard (International Railway Industry Standard), which is based on Quality Management Standard ISO 9001 but incorporates specific requirements for the railway sector and is much more demanding.
This standard was created to improve competitiveness and ensure higher quality-standards. Its evaluation directives are completely standardized and audits are particularly strict. IRIS certification provides recognition on an international level, enhancing the prestige and image of organizations that obtain it. In all Spain, only 45 companies – including just 4 air conditioning system manufacturers – hold this certificate.
Hispacold's attainment of the IRIS certification is proof of our focus on quality and continuous improvement, as attested by the other certificates we have been awarded: Quality Management Systems ISO 9001, which we have held since 2001, Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001 (since 2007), Welding Standard EN ISO 15085 (since 2009) and more recently, Occupational Health and Safety Management Standard OSHAS 18001, obtained in 2015.
