Hispacold is taking part in an ambitious industrial research project, contributing its high technology in air-conditioning systems, with the aim of decarbonizing, digitalizing, and automating urban transport with zero-emission buses.

Led by the Zaragoza-based fleet operator Avanza, the project seeks the collaboration of bus, engine, component, on-board systems, and telecommunications equipment manufacturers to implement innovative solutions in the sector over the next two years.
Together with Hispacold, four other companies (Irizar, Jema, Telnet, and Idneo-Ficosa) and three technological research centers (ITAINNOVA, from Aragon, TECNALIA, from the Basque Country, and CTAG, from Galicia) are taking part in the project. This cooperation between companies and technology centers will support the integration of a value chain of one of the segments in the automotive sector: bus transport.
Through the 2021 call of the Sustainable Automotive Technology Program, within the framework of Spain’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the State Program to Catalyze Innovation and Business Leadership of the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2021-2023, promoted by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), the NextGenerationEU project, funded by the European Union, has an investment of more than €9 million, with a grant of nearly €5.5 million.
