The technical conference was organized by the Department of Installation and Maintenance at IES Heliópolis and attended by representatives from the Government of Andalusia’s Ministry of Industrial Policy and Energy and the Ministry of Educational Development and Professional Training, the business associations AFAR (Andalusian Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Manufacturers’ Association) and FEDEME (Federation of Metallurgical Businesses), and a number of other companies from the refrigeration and climate-control industry. Those present analyzed and discussed the issue of a shortage of specialized labor in the installation sector, which is currently presenting a major barrier to growth for companies in the industry.

Hispacold has taken part in the first of two “Technical Conferences on Professional Installation and Maintenance” organized by IES Heliópolis, a professional training center that trains the professionals of the future for a career in the assembly and maintenance of thermal and fluid systems in the sub-sectors of climate-control (heating, refrigeration, and ventilation) and the production of sanitary hot water for the industrial, construction, and civil engineering sectors.
Under the general title of “The Refrigeration Technician 4.0: An Industry Profile”, the first conference featured numerous speakers, who explored the subjects of refrigeration installers and the public administration, dual training of refrigeration installers, the industrial refrigeration sector in Andalusia, the companies that install refrigeration and climate-control systems, and the sector’s business associations. Their talks were followed by an interesting round-table session, which involved representatives from Hispacold and discussed the ideal profile for companies in the sector, current installers, and the concept of the “installer 4.0”.
